Ak 47 Serial Numbers

The moving assembly has about 5.5 mm (0.2 in) of free travel, which creates a delay between the initial recoil impulse of the piston and the bolt unlocking sequence, allowing gas pressures to drop to a safe level before the seal between the chamber and the bolt is broken. The AK-47 does not have a gas valve; excess gases are ventilated through a series of radial ports in the gas cylinder. The Kalashnikov operating system offers no primary extraction upon bolt rotation, but uses an extractor claw to eject the spent cartridge case.

Marry this receiver to the high-quality wooden forend furniture and Warsaw-length stock, finish the receiver and barrel inside and out in black nitrite, and you have one classy-looking rifle! Century Arms’ new C39v2 offers many upgrades from their earlier versions, and is California-law compliant. The obvious upgrades to the v2 include the sights, magazine release and safety that have been changed from the original Century Arms C39.

I've got a few Russian 91/30's that have 9130 as the first 4 numbers of the serial #. Here is the original Norinco type 56s AK-47 clone that was outlawed in Kommiefornia in 1989 and banned by a Bush 41' executive order a few weeks later. These were replaced by the post-ban MAK 90 (below) one year later. All it has stamped on it is. 56 in a triangle, 84s, the serial number, 5.56mmx45 and made in china.

Just a word about replacing the thumb-hole stock: don't assume that you have a 'slant-cut' receiver, just because it looks that way with the thumb-hole stock in place. Remove the stock and look at the rear of the receiver. It may actually be straight cut.

The category also includes firearms which came from the factory with a buttstock that was later removed by a third party.' I was in the hospital, and a soldier in the bed beside me asked: ‘Why do our soldiers have only one rifle for two or three of our men, when the Germans have automatics?’ So I designed one. I was a soldier, and I created a machine gun for a soldier. It was called an Avtomat Kalashnikova, the automatic weapon of Kalashnikov—AK—and it carried the date of its first manufacture, 1947.' The AK-47 is best described as a hybrid of previous rifle technology innovations. 'Kalashnikov decided to design an automatic rifle combining the best features of the American M1 and the German StG44.' Kalashnikov's team had access to these weapons and had no need to 'reinvent the wheel'. Kalashnikov himself observed: 'A lot of Russian Army soldiers ask me how one can become a constructor, and how new weaponry is designed.

-A great feature that you can install is the increase paddle mag release. It will help you do magazine change quickly with this ambidextrious paddle. -Gy6 also does some dirt torture testing, where he tosses the C39V2 into the dirt with the bolt closed and open and fires it with no problems. -If you’re looking to decrease your trigger pull down to 3 lbs, have a look at CMC triggers.

Given our nation’s ever-changing import bans and regulations, having an AK-47 manufacturer stateside that listens to its customers and is willing to evolve their product is a great asset to the US firearms community. As more shooters experience the C39v2 and appreciate it, the only question that remains is, can Century Arms keep up with demand? ASJ Review by Gy6vids Youtuber: -The shooting test is not an accuracy test but on quick target acquisition -Gy6 takes the C39V2 through its pace by going through some target acquisition – doing single, double and triple taps with magazine change.

Early steel AK-47 magazines are 9.75 in (248 mm) long; the later ribbed steel AKM and newer plastic 7.62×39mm magazines are about 1 in (25 mm) shorter. Tyler Albrigjt 2015 at 5:21 pm I have a version one. I love the gun. It is a smooth shooter and has loaded and ejected all of the 500-700 rounds of surplus ammo I have ran through it. Surprisingly out of the box it shot about 8″ to the right and 14″ high. Couldn’t believe it was that far off.

On saturday i shot one with black furniture (warsaw stock) and it was like love at first sight. It grouped so nice at far-pistol distance. So if i want that exact model it would be a '61? Also he said he picked it up for like $450 new a couple of months ago but every arnsenal i'm looking at is no less than $729 anywhere.

An UF AK is less than 26' with the stock folded. They gave me the run around because the 'firearm' was still functinal with the stock folded.

Advances in plastics technology had reached the point where the scabbard body could be made of molded plastic, with only a metal end for the wirecutter. This eliminated the need for a rubber insulator, as the plastic scabbard body was non-conductive. The AKM Type II bayonet was produced by (shown above),,,, Romania,, and. Variations were also produced by India and Vietnam (the latter are thought to have been made for commercial sale, not military use). AK74 Bayonet Introduced in 1983, the AK74 bayonet represents a further refinement of the AKM bayonet. Continued improvements in plastics technology enabled a return to the one-piece molded plastic grip. The AK74 grip has a stippled non-slip surface, with concentric ridges that serve as finger grooves; and, incorporates a plastic version of the Type II pommel.

They were all designed for the typical AK 7.62x39 ammo. The stamped and milled receivers can be easily distinguished from one another because the stamped receiver has rivets holding it together and the milled receiver has only one rivet at the front of the receiver, and is obviously milled instead of dimpled. MAK-90 barrels are not threaded into the receiver, merely pressed in, and pinned. A milled MAK-90 receiver, showing the cut-out, instead of the 'dimple.' The front sight of the MAK-90 has a fully enclosed hood/sight protector with a hole in the top; and a smooth receiver cover.

This page provides a type-specific approach for identifying AK47, AKM, and AK74 bayonets, as an alternative to the country-specific index. This page is by no means exhaustive, but covers 41 different AK bayonets from 15 countries, including some unique and less common examples. Most AK bayonets conform to four basic types: The AK47 Bayonet The AK47 assault rifle was introduced during a period in history when the bayonet's future was in debate. In the decade following the outbreak of the Second World War, most of the major powers produced an infantry rifle without the ability to mount a bayonet. Without a single exception, every one was redesigned to accept a bayonet or or replaced with a rifle that did within a few years of its introduction.

Dan Dunn 2016 at 9:09 pm I have had no issues with this gun personally, as I have only fired it – enough to set the front sight post.I am afraid to fire it anymore! Numerous reports of cast steel breakage, bolt deformation, mushroomed bolt carriers and even gouged hammers. And only after firing about 800 to 1200 rounds. All that I have to go on is what other owners have experienced. Century Arms needs to address these numerous complaints and I need to be re-assured of my C39V2 purchase! 2016 at 12:32 am I’ve owned my C39V2 for just a couple of months now.

If I recall, we came up with a rough number of about 40,000 at that point. Doesn't really matter for me (the dimples thing). I have 43' M/N 91/30 and out of 14,000,000 guns produced the other boards can pinpoint almost which MONTH mine was made. Just seeing if this board would like to POOL info and make a list of information. Just minus the last 2-3 digits of your SN should be sufficent to come up with SPEC's and notations. Example: H086012XX Mine has Dimples, Extra Y, cross-hatching, and rivets. Of course yours is SPECIAL so we may have to EXCLUDE yours.

Being made with quality components only stands to increase the C39v2’s durability and longevity in the hands of a hard-use discerning shooter. Downsides to the C39v2?For some, the additional weight from the milled receiver that brings the rifle to a whopping 8.2 pounds may be an issue.

Century Arms claims that the C39v2 shoots one minute of angle out of the box, which very well may be the case in the hands of a more experienced AK enthusiast. By finishing the barrel and receiver with black nitrite and using fine wood for the forend, this AK not only depicts its roots, but it feels and looks classy. Over the 500-plus rounds fired through this gun while testing, there were no malfunctions other than the most infuriating and common AK malfunction: running dry!

Other than needing to adjust the front sight post, (and very little adjustment needed on that). Fit and finish on this rifle is flawless. I’ve so far run TulAmmo through it and wasn’t all that impressed with 100yd accuracy.

Reason: clarification. From what i know of these they came in through sile, n.y. Early 1980,s i have one identical, but it is a 56 s.

And they don't even match the reciever SN. All my WASR10/63s have way more matching parts. This WASR10/63 has at least 6 matching SN's. 3 times what the 'GREAT' Arsenal rifles have. Thank you for watcing.

My MAK-90 and MAK-91 fit my NHM-90 stock like a glove. My NHM-90 has a receiver with a solid slanted rear and cut outs for the underfolding stock on the side of the receiver. More measurements of my AK rifles barrels with calipers between the gas block and front sight: • MAK-90 milled=615' • MAK-91 milled=.684' (heavist) • MAK-90 stamped=.608' • NHM-90 stamped=.601' • NHM-91 stamped=.668' • MAK-90 stamped.223=.608' • Maadi ARM,RPM,and RML=.580' Either 30-round or 5-round magazines will fit and work fine in a 7.62x39 MAK-90. You may notice that most Chinese AK magazines do not have the welded ridge on the 'outside curve,' but are smooth. There were some made with ribs long ago, but they are rare. The later MAK-90s imported after 1990 had the threads on the muzzle actually turned off, and a 2 digit year of import stamped in front of or in back of the serial number (for example 91, 92, 93, 94). Some have a space or dash between the serial number and 2 digit year of import stamping.

The estimated numbers of AK-type weapons vary greatly. The Small Arms Survey suggest that 'between 70 and 100 million of these weapons have been produced since 1947'. The World Bank estimates that out of the 500 million total firearms available worldwide, 100 million are of the Kalashnikov family, and 75 million are AK-47s. Because AK-type weapons have been made in many countries, often illicitly, it is impossible to know how many really exist.

The bore is chrome-lined, and the rifling is good. If you keep your barrel clean, it will shine. Note the smooth receiver cover; it has no 'ribs' stamped in it. The MAK-90 rifles were imported in cardboard boxes nestled in styrofoam inserts that had cut-outs for the rifle and accessories.

But a cursory browse of online gun forums is enough to show that, well, clearly it does. There seems to be one about every month. Plus, I just attended one less than an hour’s drive from his office. I’m reminded of what one of the build party hosts said before I left: “Remember that thing I told you about why people do this: These builds can happen only because they aren’t blown out to the public and law enforcement.” People are selling AKs like mine on Armslist.com——for as much as $1,600. In most states, there are no records tracking such private sales.

During the 1980s, the Soviet Union became the principal arms dealer to countries embargoed by Western nations, including Middle Eastern nations such as Iran, Libya, and Syria, which welcomed Soviet Union backing against Israel. After the, AK-47s were sold both openly [ ] and on the black market to any group with cash, including drug cartels and dictatorial states, and more recently they have been seen in the hands of Islamic groups such as,, and the in Afghanistan and Iraq, and, guerrillas in Colombia. Kalashnikov Vodka In Russia, the Kalashnikov is a tremendous source of national pride. 'The family of the inventor of the world's most famous assault rifle, Mikhail Kalashnikov, has authorized German engineering company MMI to use the well-known Kalashnikov name on a variety of not-so-deadly goods.'

Are you sure? None have been found in '08, and yours would be the first one I've heard of. Can you provide a photo?

The new rifle proved to be reliable under a wide range of conditions with convenient handling characteristics. In 1949, it was adopted by the Soviet Army as '7.62 mm Kalashnikov assault rifle (AK)'.

All current AKs (100 series) and some older models, have side rails for mounting a variety of scopes and sighting devices, such as the. The side rails allow for the removal and remounting of optical accessories without interfering with the zeroing of the optic. However, the 100 series side folding stocks cannot be folded with the optics mounted. Characteristics Service life The AK-47 and its variants are made in dozens of countries, with 'quality ranging from finely engineered weapons to pieces of questionable workmanship.'

On 19 September 2017 a 9 metres (30 ft) monument of Kalashnikov was unveiled in central Moscow. A protester, later detained by police, attempted to unfurl a banner reading 'a creator of weapons is a creator of death'. The proliferation of this weapon is reflected by more than just numbers. The AK-47 is included in the and its, an acknowledgment that the country gained its independence in large part through the effective use of their AK-47s. It is also found in the coats of arms of and the revolution era, as well as in the flags of,,, the, and the. Some Western countries associate the AK-47 with their enemies; both Cold War era and present-day.

Russian method The following table represents the Russian method for determining accuracy, which is far more complex than Western methods. In the West, one fires a group of shots into the target and then simply measures the overall diameter of the group. The Russians, on the other hand, fire a group of shots into the target. They then draw two circles on the target, one for the maximum vertical dispersion of hits and one for the maximum horizontal dispersion of hits. They then disregard the hits on the outer part of the target and only count half of the hits (50% or R 50) on the inner part of the circles. This dramatically reduces the overall diameter of the groups.
